Marli Hommel is an individualist. She allows herself to be led entirely by her own imagination and spiritual beliefs. She tries to create the nutshell of what she considers important, such as using her paintings to draw attention to the inherent beauty of the horse or to the moment when man and horse converge. More becomes visible than is noticeable at first glance. Not without reason is she regularly called the ambassador of the horse’s soul.
On one occasion the attention is drawn to a realistic portrayal of the horse in all its physical beauty. Another time the idea is borne by a less obvious, positive aesthetic awareness.
